Kept

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

Kept does not collect your data. Any of it. Ever. Everything you write — the people you add, the scores you give, your notes and your attributes — is stored only on your own device. It is never sent to us, because there is nowhere to send it to.

What we collect

Nothing.

Kept has no accounts, no sign-in, no servers and no database. We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers, crash reporting or any third-party software development kits that gather information about you. The app makes no network requests at all in normal use — even the fonts it uses are bundled inside the app rather than fetched from the internet.

We cannot see what you write in Kept. Neither can anybody else. This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data; it is a description of an app that never receives it.

Where your information lives

In local storage on the device you installed Kept on. Nowhere else.

This has consequences worth understanding:

Purchases

Kept offers a one-off in-app purchase that removes the free limit on how many friendships you can add. Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details, your billing address or your Apple Account.

Apple tells us aggregate sales figures, such as how many purchases were made in a given country. That information does not identify anyone, and we receive nothing that could be linked back to you or to anything you have written in the app.

Apple's own handling of your payment information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sharing

Kept can generate an image summarising a friendship or your top three, which you may choose to share. That image is created on your device and passed to your phone's own share sheet. Nothing is uploaded to us at any point. Whether that image goes anywhere, and where, is entirely your decision.

Children

Kept is not directed at children. Because the app collects no information from anyone, it collects no information from children either.

Your rights

Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to give you, change or erase. Your data is already entirely under your own control: it sits on your device, and deleting the app deletes it.

Changes to this policy

If Kept ever changes in a way that affects this policy — for example, if a future version offered an optional feature that required sending data somewhere — we will update this page and say clearly what changed and why. Any such feature would be opt-in, and off by default.
